A HAMPTONS GEM ON THE SLOPES
An unrecognisable renovation
Positioned on the slopes of Balmoral, this light-filled home is inspired by classic Hamptons elegance, with a slice of British-Colonial style. Featuring bold, rich colours and luxurious finishes, this home is unrecognisable after an extensive internal renovation of the kitchen, laundry, three bathrooms and bedrooms.
The once closed-off and outdated kitchen, is now open plan and has been designed to reflect symmetry and balance. Accessorised with hardware from one of our favourite Australian brands, Hepburn Hardware, the kitchen is adorned with satin brass fittings to add an element of heritage and luxe. To soften the hard surfaces and bold colours of the kitchen, we specified rattan inserts in the overhead cabinetry, adding a natural weave texture. The original timber floorboards were preserved and sanded, and we specified a dark chocolate stain, providing a stage for the show-stopping island and Green Calacatta marble.
Haven of colour
The guest bathroom is a haven of rich colour, with the walls and ceiling colour matched to the handmade navy gloss wall tiles. The Ijen Blue quartzite vanity top was chosen specifically to pick up the warm tones of the brass hardware and links to the marble floor tiles. All the bathrooms feature tap ware from Brodware, proudly Australian owned and made.
The laundry continues the brass hardware, this time from Castella. Storage is aplenty in this room, with Dyson and broom cupboards, a large sink for handwashing, overhead hanging rail and new Fisher & Paykel appliances concealed behind mesh doors.
The master ensuite has a softer, spa-like feel to it, with mosaic floor tiles, a custom arched door way, freestanding bath tub and feature light from Ralph Lauren Lighting.
Before and Afters
The build took six months, working with one of our most-trusted builders, Tranquil Projects. The project involved a CDC to council to gain the improved interior flow. This work involved removing an interior wall in the kitchen and making adjustments to bathroom window sizes.
