Allambie Heights Kitchen
Allambie Heights kitchen gets an organic and fresh makeover
They say that the kitchen is the heart of a home, and this is certainly true for this family. In this kitchen & butler’s pantry update it was essential for the result to look beautiful and to be effortlessly functional in such an open space. On a medium budget, we worked with our clients to achieve the best results for their home. Our challenge was to deliver a beautiful kitchen while retaining the existing layout and features.
The client brief
• Maintain existing kitchen layout
• Make the space modern and feel bigger
• Replace old appliances with brand new stainless steel ones
• Improve functionality of walk-in pantry
• Create more storage solutions & display area on island bench • Use classic & timeless finishes
What we achieved
We replaced most of the old joinery cabinetry and painted them in a satin polyurethane finish. The result was so smooth and satisfying! We used that same paint colour on the walls to create a cohesive look in large space. We chose one of our favourite cool whites for its freshness and how well it complemented the warmth of the timber flooring.
We used a beautiful light shade of olive green to the front of the island bench cabinetry and an even lighter shade of olive in the butler's pantry - a slightly darker space with no direct natural light. By replacing floor to ceiling shelving in the butler’s pantry with cabinets and bench space we’ve not only tidied away kitchen clutter but also created plenty of bench space - a dream for our client who loves her appliances all plugged in and ready for use.
The kitchen is beautiful and extremely functional.
Designer tip: If you have a space flooded with natural light you can go for it with the cooler whites. Natural light and whites are a match made in heaven.
